Chapter One :Chapter 1

On a dark, windy night in 2016, a shadow darted across the rooftops of tall buildings. If anyone had looked up, they’d have freaked out: “Is that person jumping between skyscrapers without any harness? That’s insane!”

But for top agent “Reaper Healer,” this was no big deal. Miranda Hawthorne came from a long line of ancient martial artists and medical experts—stuff like this was second nature. She’d even mastered a powerful technique called the Flame Phoenix Art and was known far and wide for her unmatched skill in both medicine and poison.

No one really knew who she was—not even the killer organization she worked for. Her personal info was a mystery, but her record spoke for itself: in just one year, she rose to the top as their lead agent.

Tonight’s mission? Assassinate a corrupt politician who’d sold out his own country. She got the intel, prepped, and moved out. Soon, she landed on the balcony of a fancy villa and made her way to the target’s room. But instead of finding a sleeping traitor, she walked straight into a trap—her own boss, Black Serpent, was waiting with a team and drawn guns.

Black Serpent gave her a cold smirk. “Reaper Healer, you’ve always been too independent. Someone’s offering five billion for your life. Can’t pass that up.”

Miranda didn’t flinch. Her lips curled into a chilling smile. “Cut the crap. You’re just greedy. But if you think you can kill me that easily, you’re dreaming.”

Angrily, Black Serpent shouted, “Take her down!”

Miranda stayed calm. She activated the Flame Phoenix Art, and a searing heat wave burst out. Guns melted like butter, screams filled the room.

With a flick of her wrist, she sent out dark-glinting silver needles. They flew straight into her attackers. Seconds later, they all collapsed, faces turning black—a sign of fatal poison.

Black Serpent was the only one left standing. His face went pale, and for the first time, real fear appeared in his eyes. That’s when it hit him—he’d never fully understood how dangerous she really was. If he had, no amount of money would have tempted him to betray her.

She stepped closer, a mocking grin on her face. “You wanted me dead? You’re not even close to being qualified.”

Then she grabbed him by the throat. His fear turned desperate, then manic. He let out a twisted laugh, “You really are unbeatable… but I’ve already planted explosives. Let's die together!”

Before he could finish, she snapped his neck. But the explosion still came.

Boom. Boom. Boom.

She didn’t even get the chance to escape. Her body was blown apart—just like that, the legendary Reaper Healer was no more.

“Beat her! Beat that useless idiot to death!” a shrill voice shouted. Laughter broke out.

A thin, messy-haired girl lay on the ground, getting thrashed by a servant with a thick stick. Blow after blow landed until she stopped moving.

Out of nowhere, a streak of silver shot across the sky.

Then, faintly—a groan. “It hurts…”

Miranda stirred. Every inch of her ached; bones felt smashed.

Wait—how could she feel pain? She was dead. That bomb had killed her, hadn’t it?

What the hell was going on?Suddenly, a sharp pain pierced her head, and unfamiliar memories began flashing through her mind. It took her a moment to realize—she’d actually transmigrated. She now existed in Yanchen, a country of the Aoyu Continent, and had taken over the body of Miranda Hawthorne, the seventh daughter of a powerful noble clan, known by everyone as the good-for-nothing fool.

As a top-level operative and skilled poison doctor in her past life, Miranda had nerves of steel. Now getting a second chance at life? Of course she welcomed it—even if it came through something as crazy as transmigration.

She murmured softly, “Since we share the same name, then from now on, I’m you. I’ll make sure those who hurt you regret ever laying a finger on you. I’ll rise to power in this world, and erase that ‘good-for-nothing’ label. You can rest in peace now.”

With effort, she pushed herself up, body still weak. Her icy-cold eyes landed on the group of teenage girls around her. Bits of memory told her they were Rhiannon, Lydia, Scarlett, and Violet—her third, fourth, fifth, and sixth sisters. It was Rhiannon who’d ordered the beating that nearly killed her.

These sisters loved bullying her. Sure, they were all strikingly pretty, but their nasty mouths twisted their beauty into something grotesque. Miranda's stare alone made them feel like they were being dragged into a bottomless pit. A second later, they started shaking it off—“No way, I must be seeing things. She’s just a useless idiot... right?”

In a flash, the male servant who’d been beating her suddenly dropped to the ground—his neck twisted clean. Rhiannon’s eyes went wide. Was this still that useless girl? That man was nearly a peak-stage fighter—how’d she kill him so easily?

But confusion quickly turned into fury. “You crazy wench! How dare you kill my servant? You must be sick of living! Watch me teach you a lesson.” Her body surged with Dou Qi—a sign she was at the first level of the Great Warrior realm.

Miranda wasn’t about to wait. Before Rhiannon could complete her energy gathering, Miranda zipped beside her, snapped her wrist mid-move, and then drove a punch straight into her dantian.

“AHH! You bitch! You broke my arm—and wrecked my dantian! I’m going to kill you!” Rhiannon screamed, her face twisting in pain as she lunged toward Miranda.

The others around them gasped. “No way. What just happened? Third Sister actually got crippled by that useless loser!”

But by the time the shrieking stopped, Miranda had knocked Rhiannon out cold.

She stepped forward slowly. The girls instinctively backed up, terrified by the chilling bloodlust rolling off her in waves.

Scarlett yelled, panicked, “You—you crippled a genius like our sister! Father won’t ever forgive you. We’ll take her down together! No way she can beat us all.”

Screams echoed within minutes. The sisters were soon on the ground, bruised and bloody, stacked on top of each other like discarded dolls.

As Miranda looked them over, her voice was laced with menace. “Killing you all at once… that’s boring. Next time you see me, make sure you disappear. And if you dare tell Father, think real hard about what it says when you can’t even beat a ‘good-for-nothing.’ So here’s the story: Third Sister ate some poisonous berry by accident. Got it? If not…” She sneered coldly.

With that, she dragged her weak body back to her room, unaware that everything that had just happened had been silently witnessed from the treetops.

The handsome stranger ran a finger along his chiseled jaw, those sharp phoenix eyes carrying a chill, lips tinted the color of blooming roses. He looked like he’d stepped straight out of a divine painting.

With a faint smile, he whispered, “What an interesting woman… That attitude—I like it.” And just like that, he vanished—leaving not a trace behind, except for leaves rustling gently from where he’d been.
